HOMSA Membership

  • Spouses of ambassadors and high commissioners of countries formally accredited to Canada;

  • Spouses of official chargé’s d’affaires entitled;

  • Each country may have only one representative;

  • In the absence of a Head of Mission or the official chargé d’affaires spouse, the regional group may invite the Embassy or High Commission to nominate another diplomatic spouse as a temporary HOMSA member to join a regional group temporarily for planning that regions event. This ensures that each country can be fairly represented.  This temporary spouse can of course be invited to the event they helped organize. This temporary HOMSA member must relinquish membership of HOMSA once event is complete and/or HOMSA spouse arrives. (The decision to invite non-represented Embassies/High Commissions diplomatic spouses as temporary members is at the discretion of each Regional Group).  These temporary HOMSA members cannot sit on the Steering Committee;
